Trusting Amatuers To Perform Professional Work
Part 2: Print Design
The graphics she produced on the computer screen turned out bueatiful; however, because of lack of years of experience, subject matter discipline, and knowledge of consumer demographics, her expectations became the best part of the project.
On the printing, Jill lacked the experience to produce a quality documents without errors. Not only did she forgot to check her work before sending it to the printer, but she used RGB color palette instead of CMYK or Index colors. The colors on the printed brochure came out as one customer would claim, "Funky". Additionally, she had no idea how to set document margins. She designed her whole brochure for full bleed when the printer's press uses had a quarter inch gutter. The list goes on.... Her selection of the specialized font, "QuickenAcura" looked great on her computer, but she didn't include this True Type Font in the set of files she sent to the printer. If all that was not enough, she used copyrighted images from the internet without permission which could have lead into a substantiale fines.
