Web Designers and Marketing

In August 1991, the first World Wide Web page was made and put into place on the first browser in 1990 "World Wide Web" ( Later the browser was renamed Nexus).

Over the years, internet technology has grown in leaps and bounds from where it started. From that point in 1991 to today, the web went from a small amount of web designers to using static html Hypertext Mark-up Language to complex robust tier applications ( CGI, PHP, ASP.NET, ASP, JSP, and ColdFusion ). Newer versions of HTML became available and understood by web designers, going from HTML to HTML 2.0 and so forth.

The industry matured practically grew overnight. The markup languages began to become very complex and flexible. Custom web applications were developed that enabled content on web sites to be updateable by users and administrators by way of databases and text files. Then CSS came along which totally revolutionized how web designers and developers design layouts.

Animation/Sound/Motion Graphics:
Macromedia headed onto the web scene with Flash, which added the spark to plain web designs by including streaming vector graphics, video, sound, and animation. Web site owners all over where including snippets of animated design into their pages. Requiring a plugin in the web browser to run, it created a problem for the majority of users to view on the internet, but later versions of leading web browsers ( Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Firefox ), came with the plugin built in.

Reason For Having A Website
Today entreupueners and business owners tend to buy a website as an extension of their business or to create a business online in order to make money, but this always was not the case.

When asked the CEO of Ford Motor Company why he wanted a web site, he replied "My daughter thinks its cool!".

In any case, the majority get web sites today are made and put up with the intention of making profits; however since the majority of web designers have a graphic design background and not a marketing background, nor an expertise in Search Engine Optimization, there are vast spaces on the internet that look bueatiful with pixel perfect perfection, but rarely get scene. In addition, many web sites are built by those not familiar with the web limitations and end up designing pages that may look good on a select amount of computers, but only shows errors on a variety of others. Another problem area for web designers focused on the graphics is the consideration of how visitors are going to find the page. On the other side of the coin, Search Engine marketers are mainly concerned much traffic and sales are generated.

As part of the complete design, one needs the looks of a professionally built website and the effectiveness of a search engine performer.
